USB Flash Drive does not read.

Hello,
If I plug my flash drive into my PC using Windows XP, it works fine.
No problems.
But when I plug it into my laptop, using Windows 7 it will not load it.
It says new hardware detected, installing new hardware, Hardware installation failed.
If I go Device Manager, It is listed under Unknown Devices.
I have tried to uninstall all the USB Root Hubs, Restart the computer, in-order for it to auto re-install with the USB in / out of the computer. But it still fails.
I really need to use the flash drive.
Also, I've tried multiple flash drives, they all do the same. Work on XP, not on Win7.

You haven't told us who manufactured your flash drive, but I'm surprised to see you report that you've tried several with Windows 7.

Check to see if there are any compatibility issues that may prevent your flash drive working.

Oh That's the problem.
They are not compatible.
Is there anther way to transfer the files?
Aside from Internet, and CD-R/RW.
I need the Ethernet Driver, Audio Driver, etc. for my PC
So I was going to transfer them via Flash Drive. But that's not a option now.
And I don't have any CD's.
What about a Ethernet cord? Would that work? And how would I do it?

Do you have access to a Windows XP computer?

If so you could then copy the files to another flash drive that is compatible with Windows 7 or copy them from the XP computer with an Easy Transfer cable.

Buy a compatable flash drive. They don't cost much.
