Hello

This is my firt posting here. I hope, someone can help me.

I connected two notebooks via a TP-Link router (Wlan 54g). The first computer is a brand new Samsung RF511 Win7 Home Premium 64bit with Intel I7, 8GB Ram. The second is a 5 year old HP Pavilion DV5000 device with Win7 Home Premium 32bit.

It dosent matter if i connect via Homegroup or direct over the network to the files. The speed of transmission between the two computers is about 3-400KB. Sometime, i get about 7-800 KB. But no idea why. I guess, i should get at least 3-5MB.

If i click over the network on a movie file (only one clock - no double click) windows explorer need about 20-30 seconds for read the filedatas. While this happen, Windows Explorer get slow.

Fluid browsing in from folder to folder is not possible.

So, whats wrong with Win 7? On the Samsung notebook installed a virtual XP. If i access with XP to the datas, it is very fast. Doubleclick a movie, and he start withinh 2-4 seconds. I spent some hours to find a solution in the internet. I saw, there are plenty of users with the same problem.

I try alot: things like netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable, disable remote differential compression and many things more. Turning off Firewall and Avast Antivirus...Nothing helps. I change also from DHCP to static IP. I checked all the drifer and firmware. Everything is up to date. For me, Win7 is a backstep.

Try resetting your WINSOCK catalog:
Winsock entries tells Windows 7 how to access your network services.
Additionally, your TCP/IP protocol can be corrupted.
The TCP/IP protocol is a stack of 4 layers that includes several transport layers.
When this stack is corrupt you will constantly have connectivity issues.

Open a command [CMD] prompt with admin privileges,
then execute these commands:
netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)
netsh interface ipv4 reset (reset TCP/IP stack)
netsh interface ipv4 reset

Can't remember where I found this online - but it has helped me with network browsing in the past.

Thank you ratty39. I followed your instructions. Now, it looks that windows explorer is able to access faster to the network folders. But the transmission speed is still slooowwww. Write now i use the follow settings.

TCP Global Parameters
----------------------------------------------
Receive-Side Scaling State : enabled
Chimney Offload State : automatic
NetDMA State : enabled
Direct Cache Acess (DCA) : disabled
Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level : disabled
Add-On Congestion Control Provider : none
ECN Capability : disabled
RFC 1323 Timestamps : disabled

Additionla information: I disable the ipv6 protocoll. Now, i have 1.1MB. Much faster then before. But still too slow. But anyway, i not understand why i got now a higher speed after disable the ipv6 protocoll. Make this sense?

i have to correct. It stoped to work faster. Also the access to the folders is slowely as before.

I am angry myself. Why the hell i install this shitty OS. With XP i never had this problem. Many people have the same issue, but Microsoft is not able to help.

Only waste money and time. For nothing.
