And I'm back again giving you another annoying dilemma to help me with.

Okay, the problems are on my main pc. The specs are below:

Windows 7 Ult. 64bit
Gigabyte 880GA-UD3H
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
4GB DDR3 PNY RAM
500GB Seagate HDD
Dynex 400 Watt Power Supply

*all parts were bought BRAND NEW

These problems ONLY occur when the pc boots up for the first time (after I shut it down at night and start it in the morning).

Every now and then, the pc will boot up to the desktop. Everything looks normal. All the taskbar icons load, internet connection, everything. However, when I begin to use an application, primarily firefox, to browse the web, the pc will begin to stutter. The cursor movements become jagged and in about 5 seconds, the screen goes black. The pc fans are still on, but the hard drive light is off. Once, the screen went to a sky blue color instead of black, but the outcome was the same.

The only way out is to reset the pc. After that, everything runs fine. I can do anything to the pc and it never crashes. This problem only occurs when the pc first initializes.

Another issue is random blue screens. I've encountered about 4-5 in the past two months. When I start my morning, I boot my pc and walk out to get my coffee, leaving it to idle. Sometimes when I come back, a BSOD is waiting for me. Each time it's been the error code 0xF4, which doesn't do me a whole lot of good because that tells me it's a problem with hardware or software drivers. I can't debug the dump files either because each time the pc blue screens, it freezes before the memory can be dumped and saved. So I have a barren minidump folder.

Event viewer doesn't say anything, other than the pc shut down unexpectedly and all that.

And yes, I've done the following:

-Set my pc to create minidump files
-Ran memtest; ram checked out OK
-chkdsk; OK
-sfc /scannow; OK
-Ran seatools boot disc; couldn't load the environment correctly, but worked on my laptop

Any ideas? As always, thanks for your input.

Attached.

For the system report, ignore the security failure. I ran this before my AV updated and I purposely turned off UAC.

There is no dump in there:
To ensure minidumps are enabled:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/174459-dump-files-configure-windows-create-bsod.html

Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header
Select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

I expected there wouldn't be any. As for the psu, I didn't want to use one that was unnecessarily large. After reading the specs of my pc parts and calculating the required volts for the components, that PSU provides more than enough juice to support them. Unless I'm mistaken and need a bigger one?

Well, not sure, takes some calculations but... 400 is really quite little for a modern system even if you have onboard graphics. Use a specialized calculator to check....

I used an online calculator. Unfortunately, it didn't really let me get specific with the board, so it's heavily generalized. But according to my result, I only need around 260-300. Is 400 cutting it too close?

No, not recently. The annoying part of all this is that they don't come at a consistent rate.

We'll have to wait and test/see then... maybe a new dump would show more. If you give your system some load on a regular basis, I'd expect more problems IF it was a psu problem. Since that does not happen, it is probably something else....

Well, my computer froze up again yesterday (went to a white screen), however I still haven't experienced a real blue screen yet.

I hope I can bump this topic (the forum rules didn't say anything about bumping after a certain amount of time). But I just wanted to say that I believe I solved the problem. It seems that each of these freezes occurred when my webcam was connected to my PC. I might still need to wait, but so far, without the cam connected, things have been fine.

I'll wait another few days or a week then mark this as solved.
