Laptop Crashed and Startup Repair Fails.

Hello all,
This is my first post and I am desperately seeking help. I was recently using my laptop, (watching a movie) when it suddenly shut off and rebooted. I was greeted with the Startup Repair prompt, but that didn't help either. Every time I attempt to use the Startup Repair, I receive the following error:

I tried using my system recovery disk I made a while back, but I got nowhere. I even tried system restore and received an error message every time. If anyone can aid me in this, I would be most appreciative. If you require more information to solve the issue, I'll be glad to provide it. Thanks in advance!

However, I regret to inform you that prior to recieving the reply, I went ahead and attempted to fix the computer myself. Considering the computer wouldn't (by any means) boot up on it's own, I booted from a GParted Live CD and attempted to erase and repartition my primary partition (I knew the data on the HDD was a lost cause, and I've got it backed up anyways). However, after repartitioning it, I couldn't even get the computer to boot from an installation disc, so I used a recovery disk, went into the command prompt and tried bootrec/fixmbr and bootrec/rebuildbcd. I tried rebooting again, and still, nothing worked. I finally gave in and decided to use the set (4) of recovery disks I had made for my computer ages ago. The laptop flawlessly booted from the recovery discs and I'm currently restoring my laptop to factory, out-of-box state. I'll update you later to see if it works. Thanks again for your suggestions.
