IE8 not playing mpeg links

hi all need some help when clicking on a web site with a link to a mpeg it goes to cannot file page
In vista media player loaded
any help Thanks

In FF it let's you pick the default program a file type opens with, I'm not exactly sure about IE8 but maybe there's a similar option.
