Hi!

Saw similar problem below but my computer is brand new (out the box today) Sony Vaio VPCEH14FM came with on board Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. When I input my SD card, the card reader lights up briefly so its seeing it, but it is not appearing on my computer and when i try and run the extra drives nothing shows up.

When I plug my mini sd into the usb port it works, but id like to figure out the actual sd slot for my camera

As it is brand new, you need to get the matter put right by the reseller while your Sony is under warranty.

I know this is an old thread. I have similar problem (with no warranty), whenever i put a SD card in my vaio F11 with win 7 x64, the ricoh card reader does not recognize anything. I might get a brief flash on the screen or nothing happens at all, depending on the driver i use, i tried different ones, also vista drivers in compatibility mode. I also tried to reinstall win 7 to factory settings but it did not help. No drive shows up in explorer or an inaccessible drive shows up. I bought the computer second hand, so there might be a hardware problem, still i find this not the most likely scenario, i have read other people have problems with the reader too. Some suggest vista driver in compatibility mode. Is the problem that i use 64bit os? Now, whats weirder, when i use my usb SD card reader the computer doesnt recognize the SD card either (the sd cards i used are problem free). The external reader works on other computers.
Any clues? Anyone with the same problem?

Update: The external SD card reader (USB) did not work on another vaio with Ricoh reader either (but the ricoh reader works perfectly on that computer), very strange, but the same usb sd card reader works perfectly on an Asus.
