I read once you uninstall whatever version of IE you have, the previous version is automatically installed.Ugh:mad:.I want it out completely.I just use firefox & don't want any other browsers. One is enough for me & I don't want other browser services taking up cpu/RAM usage when I don't even use it.

It's pretty much integrated into the system but you can disable access to it and it's just like having it removed from the system. Just go to start>Default Programs>set program access and computer defaults>click on custom>then uncheck the internet explorer box.

You can also go to Start>Control Panel>Programs>Programs & Features>Turn Windows features on or off, and then disable IE9 from there.

What CPU/ram usage? Other than a bit of space on your hard drive, IE doesn't use any resources unless you open it. That and you would break any program that is coded to only use IE (and there are lots of them) for whatever reason, regardless of what the default browser is set to.
