nVidia nic driver will not stay working

I'm having an issue with keeping my nic driver working. It is an onboard device and I went to nVidia to get the new driver for Windows 7. It will work sometimes and other times it will not. On the "NOT" times I have to go in and actually uninstall the device and delete the driver from the System32 folder. Then, I reboot to get it to reinstall and 98% of the time it works them.

Any suggestions? i'm no newbe to computers, but this one has me stumped:o

Oops!

Sorry, thought you could pick that up through the profile.

Anyway, I am running a homebuilt GeForce 6100-M9 MB, AMD 3300+ Processor w/2 gig ram. ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Video w/a Hauppauge TV tuner Card. The onboard sound suddenly quit working, so instead of looking into the problem, I just put an Envy24 sound card into the system. My nic is onboard, as I stated, and I would just put another nic into the system, but I have no more PCI slots.

Thanks for your patience, everyone;)

Same problem

i have Almost the same setup and i have the exact same issue..

Biostar Geforce 6100-m9 MB, Nvidia 8800gt, 2.5gigs of ram

the difference is if its not giving me the BSOD with Ndis error for "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" its just plain locking up on me..... the whole system just freezes up and i have to hard shut down and reboot.... 20minutes to 2hours... no consistency whatsoever...

i'm beginning to think this board is just not compatible....

one small thing i have noticed.... i originally tried to troubleshoot the freezing by installing the XP drivers for the motherboard, this i think caused the BSOD...after uninstalling and letting windows autoinstall the Nic drivers as it wants to i havent had a BSOD however still freezes.

Really wish Microsoft could make an OS worth a damn from the start....I've had nothing but trouble with Vista and 7 so far....
