Hi,
I've done a system restore, unlocked the taskbar & still can't get rid of the libraries icon on the right side of my taskbar. I think it may be in the system tray (but when I open the notification tray there's no option for it). When I right click it -- all I see is: open, restore default libraries, copy or create shortcut. No way to upin or delete it. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Hello Athena28

That icon is in you desktop toolbar which shows all icons on your desktop. If you want to remove the toolbar all together from the taskbar just right click on the taskbar>toolbars>uncheck desktop.

If you still want the toolbar but don't want any icons visible right click the taskbar and uncheck lock the taskbar, then just drag the marker to the right slightly. This will put all the icons in the list with the small arrow and off the taskbar.

Thanks for your response. You're right if I uncheck the desktop -- it disappears. So that's great.

However, I tried the 2d part of your solution before & that screenshot I previously posted remains. I still get a piece of the libraries icon.

Hmm...I don't see the dotted separators on the taskbar any longer (when I unlock the taskbar).

Wait, I found them. If I tick Desktop the dotted separators come back. I dragged libraries all the way to the right but when I lock the taskbar that small piece of icon still appears (if Desktop is ticked). I need to untick Desktop for it to be gone.

Strange, did you tick show text and show title like in my post above.I can lock the taskbar and have no icons showing.

Edit - I see what you mean now when you lock the task bar it just pops into view. Not much you can do about that unless you remove the full toolbar. You could drag the full tool bar over to the left side and show all the icons. Just drag the separator bar passed and pinned icons and over to the left. If not just hide it.
