Windows media player won't let me drag tracks into a playlist

Hi all

so when i double click on an mp3 etc, the track begins to play with media player, but then when i try to drag another track into the playlist, it fails to appear.

a little symbol pops up when the track is hovering above the playlist, saying something like "add to playlist" but when i let go of the mouse, the track does not appear. if i double click it, it just starts playing as a new playlist.

i've tried downloading vlc as an alternative, but when right clicking on audio files, there's no option to "open with" etc, and i can't drag tracks into vlc either...

anyone have any suggestions?

First thought would be to turn it of in programs and features reboot then turn it back on again reboot - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/5023-windows-features-turn-off.html This quite often fixes little issues like this.
