My harddrive have 3 partitions. I accidentily formatted the one that I need. The Windows files are not in there, but almost every programs that I installed is installed in that partition. Now, I could launch any program, it says Avast snxhk.dll is missing. If I try to launch a portable program from my use, I get this "file system error (-1073741515)" message. What should I do?:cry::cry:

See if you can get someone to burn the Partition Wizard ISO to CD for you. If you can boot from it then follow Arc's suggestion to rescue your partition. If that doesn't work then you'll likely need to clean install. But I would give it a shot if there's any way to get the CD.

As suggested you want to boot the PW CD to use the Recover Partition Wizard. It will identify the lost partition by size and allow you to recover it to unallocated space of the same size or larger.

If this fails use the PW Data Recovery Wizard to try to piece back together your data.

I gave up and did I clean installation, but now, I couldn't combine the two empty partition. It won't allow me to.
For the unallocated partition, I click "New simple volume" and assign a letter, but it said not enough volume. Everytime I click, it lose a letter.

If you clean reinstall use Custom install>Drive Options to delete all partitions, then create new ones as you wish to format before install, or just click Next and Win7 will create and format its own install partition.

The steps to get a perfect reinstall are here: Reinstalling Windows 7

If you have the install you want to keep already, then post back a screenshot of your maximized Disk mgmt drive map with listings showing all columns. Use Snipping Tool in Start Menu.

I just did this too, OMG!
I wipped my 1.5tb external HD b/c it remapped my 640gb drive.

Using the partition recovery now, and seems like it's going to take awhile..
being it's a usb 2.0 drive.. I can only wonder how long this is going to run.
Hope i get the stuff back tho.

If you only used Partition Recovery Wizard then I'd also try Recuva or another data recovery software which might have better luck.
