Hi

Am looking at this drive
SAMSUNG HS12YHA 120GB 3600RPM 8MB PATA 1.8" ZIF HARD DR

for my Fujitsu P7230 Laptop but am confuse towards their description of the drive which states FUJITSU U1010 (not including any type the HDD model is MK4007GAL)/U2010/ U810/U820 P1610/P1620/P7230 (with ZIF adapter)

Is this drive compatible for my laptop? Noticed the speed is slower than my OEM but I need more internal storage.

Thank you

I'm not familiar with the Lifebook but I'd guess that its drive is a standard 1.8" PATA one with an adapter fitted to it to make its mounting in the laptop ZIF (zero insertion force).

I expect that you could dismount the adapter from your current drive and attach it to a new one.

IMHO, going from 80GB to 120 isn't much of an upgrade. If the cost isn't prohibitive, 320 or 500 GB would be better.

Sorry, the OEM drive is 40 gb, I would imagine ZIF stands for a ribbon cable that connects to the main board and the other end is a 40 pin connector which connects to the drive so when they say pata/zif, they mean it's a 40 pin pata connector on the drive but will need the ZIF adapter...right?

Confuse, lol!
