Wireless Adapter not found, yet its working properly in Device Manager

I recently moved my computer away from my router to a different room. So I bought myself a wireless adapter, a D-Link DWA-160 wireless adapter. I installed the drivers with the CD and followed the instructions. At the end of the installation it gave me this: http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/9991/82056551.png I have re-installed many times trying different methods, but nothing seems to work.

In device manager it shows that the device is installed and working properly. Yet it does not make it actually work. The light on the adapter will not flash like it does for my laptop (tested). And I am unable to even run the Wireless Connection Manager from D-Link, i just double click and nothing happens. So what exactly is the problem? If anyone can help me out I will owe you big time and appreciate it to no end, thank you!

Hi Umberto,

Since you are using a wireless manager, make sure that WLAN Auto Config Service is disabled. To do this, click on start and type services, on the top click on Service, then locate the WLAN Auto config, disable it.

Have you tried plugging it to another USB Port? If there are any Devices other than mouse and keyboard plugged in to your computer, unplug them for now. USB devices can cause conflicts.

Try disabling your Anti-Virus or Security Software, then uninstall the device driver again, this time do it in Safe Mode with Networking by restarting your computer then tap F8 then select this option.
