Folders look empty, but they're not.

Hi,

Hopefully the screenshot attachment worked.

So, I had to rebuild my computer a few weeks back and that involved transferring all of my music to an external hard drive. I have all my music on my computer again, but, as you can see, it's not recognizing the folders. The one folder that is in bold, Feist, is an album I've burned to my computer post-rebuild. As you'll notice, when I put my cursor on one of the light folders, it claims it's empty, but it's not. I can click inside, and then the album(s) will also be light, and then I'll go into the album and the songs will be there and can be played. I noticed this problem when I was trying to put all of my music back into iTunes and it couldn't recognize any of the folders. The only way I can put the music into iTunes is if I go into the albums, select all of the songs, and then drag them to iTunes. If I drag the album folder, nothing happens. If I drag the artist, nothing happens. If I do the "Import File/Folder" option in iTunes, nothing happens.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I am completely stumped.
