Best RAM for Asus Motherboard P7P55D

Hi all,

Any idea what's the best value RAM for the above board?

It's been a while and a recent game seems to have boned my RAM (or just pointed out the fact it was already boned)

Memtests are failing and the game in question keeps BSOD'ing and crashing to desktop. All was fine before this game... It's an anagram of Fattlebield 3.

I'm thinking 16gig might be required, but I'd like to be sure it's compatible before I purchase.

bf3 cost me my entire new rig!!! upgraded just to play it :p cost me over a grand so far just to play 1 game! still need a new case, psu and water cooling haha!

I've got the deluxe of that board & it runs great with Corsair CMD8GX3M4A1600C8 8gb.

If you go corsair buy it in a kit, eg as above. If you buy two 4gb kits it may not work properly even though it is the same memory.

I would think the game would run just fine with 4 GB of memory, assuming the cpu and gpu were well above minimum requirements. So, given that, I'd go for a 2x4 GB kit for now. You can always add more later.

Also you do not go with Triple channel RAM with a Dual channel motherboard.

You buy 2 or 4 sticks of RAM. Matched sets placed together.

So 2 sets of 2x2GB or 2x4GB if you want 8GB total.

I'm sure I'll get over the expense by not going out for the next 4 months due to extensive gaming!
