Hi, all

For a while now i have been getting a 0x0000001E BSOD and I have no idea what is causing it. I've run memory tests, updated drivers for my GPU and ran a bunch of other tests, but the problem persists.
My pc is only 3 months old and it has been having this problem for over 2 months, so i figured the drivers would probably be up to date. At first the BSOD's only happened while using one program (second life), but recently it's shown up on other occasions as well, although I can't reliably recreate the error (which is what makes it so frustrating, since i have no idea what's causing it)
Furthermore, I cant get Windows to make a memory dump file of the event. I set it up precisely as mentioned in the forums here, but I dont get any memory dump files. Using a different folder or different partition/HDD makes no difference either.
I have also been getting dxgmms1.sys crashes on occasion, even when not running any other programs than windows explorer. I'm pretty sure I'm running the latest Nvidia drivers, so I dont know whats up with that either.
Since I don't have any memory dump files (recent ones, at least. the ones I have are at least a month old), is it useful to run the jcgriff2 program? I ran it just in case and added the resulting files to this post
I hope someone here can help me.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Tallgeese

In the most recent minidump i can see both avast and avg.

If you still have them then remove them both.Never dont install 2 or more antivirus in the same system.

For antivirus download and install Anti-Malware, Virus, Spyware Protection | Microsoft Security Essentials

If you overclock anything especially your gpu stop and set it back to default.

Uninstall
nVidia System Utility Driver.

The latest nvidia drivers have few problems so try with older software\drivers

Finish
and post back with the results.

Thank you for your time, Panais

  • I switched from AVG to Avast a while back, but made sure AVG was uninstalled first. I uninstalled Avast in favour of MSE just now.
  • I am not doing any overclocking that I am aware of. I had CPU overclocking turned on for a while to see if lowering the max CPU load would make a difference, but have since turned it off completely.
  • I uninstalled the Nvidia drivers and let windows use its own to install my GPU
Ive attached a new jcgriff2 report

I am still getting 0x1e BSODs regularly and without any memory dump files. Is there something that can prevent memory dump files from being made? Ive noticed that the minidump folder has a little lock icon and that its read only. Would this prevent dump files from being made?

Run SFC to fix any corrupt system files

Run some hardware tests:

Stop any overclocking if any

Hi, Yowanvista, thank you for trying to help me

  • I did a scan with the system file checker, but it could not find any errors
  • I did a memory test and let it run four passes without finding any errors
  • I let the OCCT GPU 3d test run for 90 minutes with the shader set to 3 without any errors
  • I am not overclocking my CPU or GPU as far as I know
The problem hasnt been fixed, Im afraid, I still get the 0x1e BSODs and I am still not getting any memory dumps....
