Low profile firewire add-on card with internal pinout for front ports?

Is there such a thing? My motherboard doesn't have firewire, and for the life of me i can't find a single expansion card that has an internal pinout that I can connect the cable for my front firewire port to. The closest I found was not low-profile compatible.

Help?

and this is for the computer in my description, but on monday I'm switching out the case for a low profile hec 7K09 HTPC case.

ok on further inspection (pic wasnt loading) it doesnt seem to be low provile as other startech ones. ill keep looking.

Sorry, but both of those have an actual Firewire 6-conductor PORT on the inside of the case. I need something that uses a 9-pin motherboard connector; looks a little like a double-wide front-USB connector.

That's the problem I've been having, as they all use a standard 6-conductior firewire port as the internal port.

I guess the card manufacturers assume that your motherboard has firewire anyways (which would cast doubt on the importance of a firewire add-on card in the first place.)

I'm thinking of almost just buying that one and bending and cutting the metal to work. But i'm 90% sure I'd damage the circuitry.

I have found a few that had some sort of pin thing where the pins are parallel to the board, but that's a molex connector for more power.

My firewire card that I have never ever used (as I've never owned a device that uses it). Has a removable pci plate. So you could effectivley take it off and swap it for a low profile plate off something else. But for the sake of £10 I'd risk buying on and trying to bend/cut/drill the existing one.

Bending is going to be the tricky part. I don't know what tools I can use that will not put the circuitry at peril.

I would get a small hacksaw and cut a very shallow score along the point of bending, and then place it in a wide jaw vice. A couple of taps with a mallet will bend it.
