Desktop has USB wired HP j6480 all in one printer shared
Cannot connect to printer from laptop unless Windows 7 has login password enabled.

Yes, I agree, and this infact works, but is there any way to do this without a psw on the Windows 7 PC?

Enable autologon and when you start it you don't need to type the password!

Thanks for the follow up. Exactly how do I enable autologon in Windows 7 ultimate? Thanks

Here’s how:

-Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to launch the “Run” dialog box.
-Type in control "userpasswords2"
-Press Enter. The User Accounts window will display.
-Uncheck the option “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer”
-Click “OK”
-You will then be prompted to enter the current password and confirm it.
After doing so, you will no longer be prompted to enter your password upon login.
