Norton Internet Security 2012

My NIS 2011 (which I am very happy with) ends in a couple weeks. I already have the boxed retail 2012 ready to install but looking in the Norton Forums many seem to be having issues with 2012. Has anybody had any experience with NIS 2012 yet?

Love Norton myself.

2012 has been perfectly fine for me, up untill a couple weeks ago. Something in one of the patches done something different.

Mind you, its nothing bad like BSODS or errors etc.

basically, I just noticed things taking longer than normal.
For example, after a cold boot, gadgets (Nortons included) took longer to open than they should.
Downloads were taking longer to scan and give Insight Reports. Some programs took way too long to open when trying to install (from a .exe)
Soemtimes, opening a folder like My Documents took a second to show.

As I mentioned, this didn't strat until recently.
At any count, I rolled back to 2011 and all is well again.

ATM, from what Ive seen, 2012 has a few minor annoyances but they should be fixed soon, but Ive not noticed anything major.

I only say that because went through it with 2011 shortly after release. It was all fixed, and was back to normal after a couple updates.

Still one of the best Inetrnet Security Suites IMHO.
If you have a subscription, you should be able to install any version you choose.

For right now, I would just stick with 2011.Its rock solid.
Give 2012 another month or 2 before upgrading, which you can do at any time. All that matters is your subscription is valid.
BTW, you can either renew or use the key that is in the 2012 box to renew. It makes no difference what version you run.

My 2 cents.

Thanks Wishmaster! I think I WILL hold off on 2012 for now. As I said my 2011 subscription is up in two weeks but I will just use the 2012 product key to renew 2011. I have been very happy with NIS (especially 2009-2011) I hope they fix the bugs soon. I have a few XP machines in which I use Avast Free but for my 2 Win 7 I prefer NIS.
