looking at buying new fans. heres what they are... recommendations?

so... iv been wanting to re modernize my computer for a while. its not praticularly out of date and can play alot of Graphics intense games just fine, but i have been wanting to make it significantly better and turn my current parts into a dedicated server. that being said, my first step has been to replace stock fans and cooling with better ones. i was looking at this

im not sure what that link was to, but thanks forthe advice on cougar, but now i have to ask, what should i look into. i like xigmatek, but i could care less for the white LEDs. i like solid orange blades (ie not clear) if LEDs than Redish orange or orange. and preferably over 1000 RPM quieter is better. i need 120mm and 140mm and possibly 230mm

I agree with Darryl, I've never heard of Cougar, but the H100 is a good cooler. I would check the specs and make sure it will fit your case. As I understand, it needs 2 120mm fan mounts, side by side as you would find on the top of many cases.

went to there website, they do have some more, but the prices get a little "pricey!" getting to $30 for the 120 fan, ty for telling me about it, but i think ill just keep it in mind for another build, this time i think i can sacrifice SOME quality for asthetics. like bfore. if anyone knows of any orange 140mm fans 120mm fans and 230mm fans, preferably all from the same brand, in orange, and with orange, red, or even NO LEDs. i could mod the xigmatec, white to orange LEDs, but i have no clue how or where to get orange LEDs on there own on short notice for cheap

im sorry for the misunderstanding, i plan on puting 1 120 on the back, 2 140 on the side, the h100 on top. also im not sure how much i want to tamper with h100 with 2 fns at 2600 RPM. but ty for the help still, im still considering it

Good brands generally: Scythe, Nexus, Noctua, Yate Loon.

Pay attention to both diameter and depth. Most case fans are 25mm deep and you have to make sure they will fit.

If noise level matters to you, keep the RPM below 1000.

Some fans have ball bearings and others use sleeve bearings. The former will last longer, but the latter can be quieter for most of their useful life.

Some say sleeve bearing fans last longer if mounted vertically.

All other things being equal, go for large diameter fans and low RPM. They can move as much air as a smaller fan at a higher RPM. That's why the trend in the last 5 years or so has been toward 120 mm case fans.

i know... lol... but its one of my favorite colors if its the right shade, i like orange that is almost red, so i use alot of "RED" cathodes in my case that look dark orange. but everything in my case is black and orange and some blue here and there

to be honest, if anyone knows how to mod xigmatecs, i know thats a prety common one for phantoms. im just not sure whats involved in taking out and replacing LEDs in the fan from what i understand its not to hard, but ive never done it, so i have no clue. if anyone else has done it or something like it or knows how and wouldnt mind sharing id appreciate it

The H100 is outstanding and it will benefit from two additional fans in a push pull configuration. You can place the colored fans on the inside and run the stock black Corsair as exhausting fans as is my system.

Watch for clearance issues with your ram. Oh and please dial down the rpm on the fans as wide open the Corsairs scream !

Watch for clearance issues with your ram. Oh and please dial down the rpm on the fans as wide open the Corsairs scream !

i have to say, i likem, but they ar just a bit pricey for not even matching my theme. but like i said, im turning alot of my curent parts into a didicated server which i think noctua would work nicely in, but black, bright orange... and BROWN?

like i said. if anyone knows for shure how i can replace the LEDs in the xigmatek fans... but i never really asked, do xigmateks still look orange with white leds lol... i just would prefer to look at orange LEDs lol
