in WMC can't burn recorded tv to bd-r disc in a blu-ray drive

I have windows 7 and windows media center v6.1.7601.17514
I have an HP Pavilion dv7 with a blu-ray drive

when I try to burn recorded tv in windows media center, with a bd-r disc in the blu-ray hard drive I get a message "insert a writeable media that is compatible with your cd or dvd recorder, then select retry"

I should note that a right click on a tv show icon has the option to "Burn a CD/DVD"

The BD-R disc is brand new. It's a Memorex Recordable BD-R, 4x, 25GB, Single Layer.

Does anyone have any thoughts on why I can't burn to this disc on my blu-ray drive?

I also posted this question to a HP forum and was told quickly that while I have a blu-ray drive I *DO NOT* have a blu-ray burner. I'm thankful for the answer and more than a little sheepish over my lack of knowledge.
