I am tryingto re-install Win 7 Home Premium with help of HP Recovery Kit,
Got stuck at the following error:

[18:11:00.27] ChkErrBB.CMD : Detect some error during PININST_BBV.
[18:11:00.27] ChkErrBB.CMD : Check c:\system.sav\logs\BurnBootWarn.log

Can please someone give me pointers to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Are you running HP Factory Recovery from its partition on the HD? HP Recover Windows 7 Operating System Using HP Recovery - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

Or using Factory Recovery Disks? HP Recov DIsks - make another set
Creating a Recovery Disk on a USB Flash Disk - HP technical support

If you ran it from its partition, try again. If it fails again, run the Disks you should have made or can order from HP Tech Support.

You can also clean reinstall with a Win7 installation DVD for your version with the Product Key on the COA sticker. Follow these steps to get a perfect reinstall of factory OEM, with special notes for HP users: Reinstalling Windows 7

I am using factory HP provided recovery disks to install factory image on my pc. During this process.. it formatted my Hard disk(HD) then copied the necessary files. It try's to make hte pc ready for first time use setup and during this process it throw's me the ERROR msg i have posted.

Do you have any idea of this error? if so please let me know the resolution.

Thanks for the quick reply.

This is why it's best to first run Factory Recovery from its partition which is more stable, then have the disks as a backup method only.

Your options now are to call HP Tech Support to see if the errors are a known issue they can help you with, or ship you new Recovery Disks.

Or you can use a Win7 installation DVD to clean reinstall with the Product Key on COA sticker, following these steps to get a perfect Factory OEM clean reinstall: Reinstalling Windows 7

Reason to reinstall - my old HD throwed me an error #10008 when hard drive selft test.
before that my pc was getting blue screen crashes randomly when we just browse internet.

So I swapped the HD with new one (luckily had spare one).

I dont backup on a HD, is this a S/w problem or hardware issue?

Can any of you confirm that?

Also by any chance, is this issue with HP Recovery CD ? since I am out of warranty, HP doesnt throw any help until I buy phone support for 60bucks

It would have helped if you'd told us your HD failed from the start.

Could be a problem with the disks. They should autostart. If not are you being prompted to "Press Any Key to boot Disk?"

Did you read over the link for Clean Reinstalling Windows 7? This is a much superior install to the HP factory preinstalled bloatware, which is the worst in the industry.

If you are satisfied with 64 bit (can use more than 4gb RAM) then burn the ISO to disk or write to flash stick installer with the tool below the download links:
