try using each stick one at a time if one will work in all slots, set that one aside ... then try the others... if they all pass in a singular configuration, then crash with more than one inserted, then you more than likely have a bad board.... .. start looking for another mobo..

i would like to agree with you, but if all the ram works correctly (dual channel) while running xp pro, i cant imagine that its my motherboard.

Your assumption would be valid if there were no changes between the two in the way they address memory, but the changes are legion! Ponder this in your mind and decide whether to upgrade your hardware, or stay with XP...

Increase your memory and/or north bridge voltage by one bump upward. Might correct for the extra demand.

I thoroughly researched your (what is a less loaded word than cryptic - Delphian, Delphic, abstruse, ambiguous, apocryphal, arcane, cabalistic, dark, enigmatic, equivocal, esoteric, evasive, hidden, incomprehensible, inexplicable, murky, mysterious, mystic, mystical, mystifying, occult, opaque, oracular, perplexing, puzzling, recondite, secretive, strange, tenebrous, unclear, unfathomable, uninformative, vague, veiled) oracular tip.

There is a commonality to numerous issues being posted at SF and other places. Win7 seems to require more power in all HW subsystems.
