how can i play riven [myst]on my windows laptop?

I love old games like myst and riven and want to introduce my partner to riven on my new laptop. Riven played well on my last laptop with windows vista but it wont install on windows 7...why?

Because it is 64 bit. You can however (if your hardware supports it) run a virtual XP machine to play all the old games and 16 bit apps.

thanks for your positive and helpful reply, however I think i tried the virtual pc option but my hardware would not support it...anyway around that?

Most newer 64 bit computers can. Give us your system specs and we can investigate.
