good music player with good Equalizer?

Does anybody know of a good music player that has a good Equalizer? IMO, the equalizer sucks for WMP 11, realplayer free, and my sound card.

I like the PowerAMP app for my android, the equalizer has a sick bass. but it's not available on pc.

I have no idea what you mean by "good" or "sick", but most players have equalizers.

Media Monkey and I-Tunes, for instance.

Equalizers either lower or raise certain frequency bands--if they don't do that, they are broken. Some may control different bands than others, but they all use the same principles.

sick as in it sounds good. I notice that the equalizer in WMP 11 and my sound card sounds different when i both a certain value to max.

I really don't know of one that doesn't have one these days, like Ignatzatsonic stated.

Well--you listen with your own ears, not someone else's ears. So, you have to satisfy yourself and the only way to do that is to experiment. Just because I think an equalizer setting "sounds good" doesn't mean you will have the same opinion.

I use DFX audio enhancement with WMP adds great sound for me. The free version doesn't use 3D surround but it still works well.

Personally I like to use Winamp for my audio files and I also use the DFX audio enhancer. Winamp is free and there is also a free version of DFX that comes with a few pre-sets. Sound quality will also depends on how you are listening. Laptop speakers tent to be pretty bad but a nice surround system will improve sound quality even using the same player and options.

Hi,

WMP? Ditched it a long time ago.

I've tried Foobar2000, MediaMonkey along with a few others. In the end I settled on MusicBee.

It's also possible to import some WinAmp plugins: Equalizer - MusicBee Wiki

It's possible to level track volumes although it's not as straightforward as using MediaMonkey to do this.

It's also possible to adjust pre-amp level and playback speed.

It's not as resource hungry as MediaMonkey but has many similar features. It can be installed without making it the default music player (don't associate any file types) and it will work just fine.

Best advice is to try any media player that can be installed without making it the default player - untill you find one that you like. Also consider that the EQ results depend upon how you've set your system volume preferences - in my case using Realtek HD Audio Manager!
