Solved I found No icons on desktop after restart

This problem persisted over 1 week and i am not able to see any icons on my desktop. I just installed windows 7 the previous week and everything was fine then, even now am able to use the computer as usual but since there are no icons on the desktop i have to go all the way round to get to my computer or any other application. Is there any solution to this problem?

Right click on desktop. Click on View and the check Show desktop icons.
