Solved Wallpaper remains stretched when I change it to tiled

I'd like my desktop wallpaper to be tiled but when I change it to tiled it doesn't tile it at the original size of the image, it stretches it to the same height as my screen resolution and then tiles it, which looks awful.

Why is this?

Tiling is repeating any image which is smaller than your screen resolution. Try fit or stretch and see how it looks.
Post a full screen snip too please.

The previous poster never posted a snip of the desktop, maybe you can so we know what it looks like.

Please include you monitor resolution and the size of the image you want to use.

Thanks for the welcome Britton, and for responding so quickly, but I believe I have just stumbled on the answer!

I was trying to set the wallpaper in Windows Photo Viewer using the right-click option "Set as desktop background", and no matter what I did, the image always stretched to the full height of the display and only tiled (repeated) horizontally.

However, when navigating to the file through the Browse button in Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Personalization\Desktop Background and selecting it that way, the Tile option works as it should, without scaling up or stretching the image.

I note that opening the image in Internet Explorer and right-clicking and choosing "Set as background" also works correctly with the tiling option.

So the lesson is - don't use Windows Photo Viewer to set the background if you want it tiled!

Good solution. I think anytime you select "Set as desktop background" from the picture viewer or explorer the image will display as has been chosen in the Personalization\Desktop Background.

You can also access that by right clicking the desk top and selecting "Cutomize"
