Hi,

I built a new PC in November 2011 and it was fine for me up until late December when I started getting frequent, irregular BSODs. I haven't been able to narrow down what's causing them, sometimes they are under high load, sometimes when the system is idle.

Specs are as follows:
Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz
OCZ Agility 3 60GB 2.5" SATA-3 Solid State Hard Drive
Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB SATA 6Gb/s Hard Drive
Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
Asus P8Z68-V Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
ATI Radeon HD 5850 Extreme 1024MB GDDR5

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate - Full Retail
Aged of OS Installation is since build - Nov 2011

All other requested information is attached,

Thanks!

Thanks.

I'm in the process of updating all drivers and the SSD firmware.

Currently running prime85 torture test and max cpu temp is 69 degrees, which I dont think its anything major to worry about.

Just a quick update on my situation:

I've updated all drivers, haven't had a chance to update my SSD firmware yet or BIOS as I don't have a bootable USB drive - working on this though.

The reason for my update is that I'm now also getting BSOD error 101.

Could they be related?

Just ran prime95 for 7 hours overnight and furmark for an hour this morning, no issues. Going to run the other CPU tests today and get hold of a USB drive to update SSD firmware and BIOS.

Any ideas what it might be once I've taken all of these steps?

This wasn't happening 3 weeks ago, if I just formatted my HDD and reinstalled windows is it likely to stop?

Yea ofc, but I was thinking along the lines of it being software/drivers that are maybe malfunctioning. At least if I formatted and it continued to crash then I would know its definitely a hardware problem. Just thinking that it might make the fault finding process a lot faster.

Probably end up as an unsolved mystery... Currently looking like a driver issue and not hardware.

I updated the firmware on the SSD (which seems to have slowed it down! max read speed is under 400mb/sec D:) and my BIOS.

Reformatted and installed Win7 x64 fresh, installed all new drivers

Reapplied my CPU (i5 2500k @ 4.6ghz) and GPU (ATI 5850 @ 875/1200) overclocks - going to leave prime95 and furmark on overnight and see if its still alive in the morning!
