Sluggish Resume From Suspend Then Network Goes Down

I find that after leaving my box in suspend overnight, it is very sluggish to resume. But after being online for the first 10 mins the network goes down & I have to run network diagnostics to fix. The network card gets reset each time with a host not found fault. I am using a Edimax Wireless 802.11 b/g/n 32-bit PCI Adaptor (EW-7722In.)

I am using the basic Windows driver as uninstalled the Edimax utility due to above fault.

 :(

EDIT: This may be two separate problems, (tho it would be nice to solve both.) I am carrying out a dsk chk as advised on these forums for slow resume from suspend/sleep.

I am seeing these errors repeated in Event Viewer:

1 ~ Service Control Manager

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
DwProt [This is repeated roughly around sluggish resume from suspend.]

2 ~ Event 6 ,Kernel-Processor-Power

Some processor performance power management features have been disabled due to a known firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware.

Also Lots of DNS connectivity warnings:

Name resolution for the name talk.google.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.

EDIT: DwProt is a Dr. Web Cure It process, seemingly uninstalled yonks ago. Yikes! Any help?

Ran DSK CHK, volume was clean. Ran the Dr. Web uninstaller & left PC suspended over night. Resume was a lot quicker but still not as quick as when left suspended for a couple of hours; still.

As for:

2 ~ Event 6 ,Kernel-Processor-Power

Some processor performance power management features have been disabled due to a known firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware.

ASRock say this is Intel SpeedStep which was set to "Auto" in BIOS. Now set to "Enabled".

The customary network drop out after resume from supend is still in affect tho. The network becomes sluggish then refuses to load any page. Left alone, a yellow triangle will appear then disappear many times, before I am forced to run network diagnostics. Whereupon The default gateway is not available error is fixed. Any ideas? Once network diagnostics fixes the default gateway error is fine until resuming from overnight suspend the following day.

My default gateway is an ISP provided D-Link DSL-2640R that is left on 24/7. Only 7 has the problem, my other Linux boxes work fine. I also have a VoIP Linksys PAP2 for my phone line. This plugs into router 24/7.

I do have auto channel scan set on the router, will try disabling...

Weeeelll...I set DNS to Google's public DNS yonks ago. But upon checking network properties both DNS fields were blank (possibly an install changing settings.)

If above does not rectify will try manually setting IP address and default gateway.

Problem is worse, happening every resume from suspend now.

Have tried re-entering Google public DNS where the fields were blank, will try my ISP's DNS by setting to auto.

Have manually set gateway & IP, will try again in the morning.

Nothing works!

Also, most annoyingly, there is no check box to delete driver when uninstalling network adaptor. Is this normal for Win 7?

Obviously not! My Ethernet driver has the check box, but not my wireless adaptor, eek!

Only thing left to try is disable FW & AV, in turn to see if there is some kinda conflict.

EDIT: I might as well go for the fiftieth post [talking to myself...]

I think it is a MS service as have clean booted with all non MS services & no joy. Still drops connection when resuming from sleep. Thinking of diagnostic start up but need to know what MS service is responsible for sleep & WLAN?

WLAN AutoConfig is one, will probs wanna run FW still. can anyone advise?

Simple solution in the end. Edimax driver poorly written. Had to check "Delete driver software for this device" box when rolling back from Edimax driver to basic MS driver. The old Edimax driver must of been interfering with the operation of basic MS driver.
