c:\win32\sv_host.exe

Recently showed up in my startup. I know of svchost being legit, but sv_host? The "c" in the file path is also lower case, not sure if that would be an issue. My CPU and network usage isn't high. Nothing odd happening but some BSODs, but that's been determined as a driver issue.

Just wondering. The Google doesnt seem to have an answer. Any ideas?

I'm with you. Don't see it. Curious at best, worrisome at worst.

What is the date of this file?

ccleaner starts the path with "c". Everything (finder program) lists it as starting with "C". So I'm not concerned about that anymore. Just curious and concerned.

I get an error when trying to start the exe. "Unsupported 16-Bit Application: The program or feature "\??\C:\win32\sv_host.exe" cannot start or run due to incompatability with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available." I rectly installed a 32-bit truecrypt on my 64-bit system xD Probably related. Kill with fire :3?

Hi, AlvitrValkyrie.

It wouldn't hurt to scan the file at VirusTotal.

Go to https://www.virustotal.com/
Click "Choose File"
On your computer, navigate to and select c:\win32\sv_host.exe
Click Open.
Click the "Scan it" button.
