Unable to run a specific game because of a weird problem...

Hello everyone, I have a weird problem. I cannot run Microsoft's Age of Empires online, because an error msg appears -> Basically I must enable it in Parental Control. Now this is the problem. I use a custom Win7 install, I removed many parts of the OS to speed it up, and I removed parental control as well. So basically I don't have parental control in Windows, but this game is keep asking for enabling the game there.

I registered on the official forum and tried to get some help...no luck. How could I solve this problem? AFAIK I cannot "download" Microsoft Win7's parental control and "install" it. I don't want to install the full OS just because of this, and I don't want to create another custom Win7 with parental controls enabled. Is there a way to fix my problem somehow?

Maybe it's because you removed parts of your OS, such as dependencies for AOE:O.

I hate to say it, but usually tools like vLite and RT7Lite are "points of no return" type tools - once you remove a component, it's gone and never to be added back to the system. If you really did remove parental controls with one of these sorts of tools, you removed not only the components but the OS's knowledge about what these are or where they would be installed if they were there to begin with. That means that you either have to do a repair install with a full OS to get the components back, or you live without them (and the APIs that you remove that those components exposed). I have heard of folks doing this in the past with this specific component, and once it's removed even adding the files back and re-registering them does not fix it because there are also broken side-by-side registrations with other components that have been broken.

Yeah I used vLite. So basically I must either install the original "full" Win7 sytem / make a new custom install with parental control in it. Oh well.....I never thought that I will need this parantel control thingy ever..:|

Thanks for the help lads!

I would recommend doing a complete new install and then leave Windows 7 as is.
It would help us all if you filled out your computer specs completely. Their might be some hard ware changes that could be of help in the speed department.
