hi,

i can't add a file to my usb external drive shared , attached to "popcorn hour a100" (multimedia drive on linux) from my desktop ( WIN 7 64 bits)

this drive is in ntfs and 2 T sized ..

i have always the message ' you haven't autorization ....'

same thing when i try to modify : properties/security/change autorizations.....

Is it possible , by Filezilla , to change permission on it ?? :sleepy:
or another method

Thanks for your answers..

How are you accessing this drive? You say it's an external USB drive but that it is connected to your a100. So is the drive actually connected to your win 7 system via usb or are you trying to access it over the network?

The external drive is connected to pch A100 and via mapping I can read files on it from win 7. But I can't add files Because I have no rights ( say windows)

maybe by FileZilla or telnet I must change permissions ??

I don't know. How ???

I've never used a popcornhour appliance so I'm not sure the best way to go about this. However, based on the fact that it's an NTFS drive that is simply attached via USB to the PCH, have you tried connecting the external drive to your Win 7 system and adding your username as a list of users allowed to write to the given directories? You can do this by right clicking on whatever folder you want permissions for, properties, then security tab. Just add your username and the appropriate privileges.
