Network drives don't reconnect at logon ("Could not reconnect all network drives")

Hi all, I'v got a problem with mapped network drives.

My configuration:
i have my pc with Windows 7 beta, anda onther old pc with windows xp. I mapped a shared folder on the xp computer ads network drive.

The problem is that even if I save my credentials, the network drive don't reconnect at logon and I have to reenter my credential again.

I have the same username on both pc, on the xp one (where are the shared folders) I have also set a password, on mine not.

Can you help me? Thank you very much.

Have you set up advanced sharing and turned off password protected sharing?

Have you set up advanced sharing and turned off password protected sharing?

Yes, but it's the same.

I tried with my notebook to map as network drive the same shared folder and here it works.

The account name on the notebook is the same, but i set a pssword from the begining.
I tried also on the desktop pc to set a password for my account but the network drive still don't reconnect at logon.

I think the mix-up is because you have the same username on both PCs, and one has password, but the other doesn't, so it fails to authenticate.

In my case , any shared folders from XP are visible at once, no passwords asked.

Try changing the username on either XP or W7, or using the same password on both.
If you want your account to have a password, but not ask you for one at logon:

Start - > Run (search area) -> netplwiz {enter}
uncheck the checkbox "users must enter a username and password to use this computer"

I tried but it doesn't work. It's very strange because on my notebook i have the same username and password too, and there it works.

I have the same error message. But I know my pc can't reconnect to the networkdrives because the computers sharing the driver are not powered. So I just want te get rid of the text-balloonmessage in the system-tray.

Is there a way to disable these annoying messages?

I tried hiding them by setting their behaviour to "hide icon and balloon-tip text messages", but for some strange reason this setting changes all by itself again to "only show balloon-tip text messages". So this is no solution.

Someone any idea?

Thx, piXie
