I know there has to be a simple fix to this but I'm banging my head against the wall right now trying to figure this out. Everytime my PC goes to sleep I'll press a button on my keyboard or move my mouse and it will wake up just fine, but the monitor won't wake up. I've also noticed that the backlight on my keyboard doesn't show up. I've tried different monitors and removed the VGA cable from the graphics card after waking up and plugged it back in and no video. I have to reboot the computer to get video again and everything works great.. until it goes into sleep mode again. I have updated my graphics card driver (Geforce GT 210) and still no fix. I haven't made any changes that would cause this. Someone has to know something about this. Thanks in advance for any help!

Once my Realtek Network Controller had gone into deep sleep during hibernation and would not wake up. I searched high and low on the Net and found that to wake it up from deep sleep I should take out the RAM cards and refit them after about 10 minutes to wake it up. When I did that the Ethernet woke up from its deep slumber.

May be the same trick would work here. You can read about it at Realtek’s network controller deep sleep mode issue

I'm trying to find a solution to the same problem: my display won't wake after I put it to sleep (not the computer itself). The only thing that works (short of rebooting) is to hit ctrl-alt-del, which displays the menu that allows me to switch users, etc. Then I hit "Esc" and all is well. I've seen threads all over the Internet complaining of this problem, so we're not alone. Since my problem wasn't there when I first installed Windows 7, I suspect one of the updates started the problem, and M$ seems unwilling to diagnose it and solve it. One user thinks SP1 may be the culprit. At this point, I'm afraid there's no solution until M$ decides to fix it-- either that or it's hiding from us.
