Hello, i'm a newbie in troubleshooting, I have a problem when I open my notebook/laptop it always show the BIOS Setup, so what i do is I press "ESC" on keyboard the select "Yes" to discard the changes in BIOS and it loads the windows and works properly I tried to restart but when I restart same process the BIOS Setup always appear, how can I prevent the BIOS Setup showing in turning on my notebook/laptop?

I did recently;
-Startup Repair; but doesn't solve the issue.
-I disassemble my notebook/laptop I thought it has a CMOS battery :roflmao:
-Load Default Settings of BIOS; still doesn't change anything.

Sometimes the BIOS Setup doesn't appear in starting up but it shows a message that something like there's a problem in BIOS, I forgot the exact message then below there's a choice:
Press F1 to run Setup.
Press F2 to load defaults.................etc.

Pressing F1 it goes me to BIOS Setup
Pressing F2 the windows loads normally

It does sound like a failing (or failed) CMOS battery. Is the BIOS clock/date resetting itself to the same time/date? What is the make and full model number of the laptop/notebook?

I open again my notebook here's the exact message and scenario;

This is the post message:

Please enter setup to recover BIOS setting
Press F1 to Run Setup
Press F2 to load default values and continue

then I press F2, the Windows Boot Manager appear I select Windows 7 and my notebook open :) the system date and time are correct it not reset to its factory setting.

then I restart my notebook and here's the problem instead of showing the post message above it shows/directly go to BIOS Setup Utility, but the time and date are still updated so I exit choose "Exit and save changes" even though I didn't change anything, my notebook restart then again it directly go to BIOS Setup Utility, then I try to Exit but now I choose "Exit and discard changes" then bang.... the windows loads  it seems that everytime I choose/save changes in BIOS the windows doesn't load it always go to BIOS Setup but everytime I choose "discard changes" the windows load :( what do you think is the possible problem of my notebook?

From what i found out on ASUS support website, the latest BIOS version for your laptop model number is BIOS version 1601 release date 14/07/2011.Here is the link ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download Eee PC 1005HAB

It would be better if you can post a screenshot of your BIOS with version number visible.Flashing BIOS with version not for your laptop can render your laptop inoperable.Take utmost care while flashing BIOS.Make sure laptop is plugged in and battery is full just in case.

Your BIOS version seems a bit outdated.I couldn't find the latest version from AMD website nor from ASUS website.
On the bottom cover of your laptop is the product serial number. Here is how you can find it ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Repair Information

Then visit the ASUS support page i listed above and type in your product serial number and check if you can find the latest version of your BIOS.

Re-flashing to the latest version might solve your problem.

Re-flashing BIOS actually is very easy.Tell us which steps in flashing you are finding confusing.

Formatting may or may not solve your BIOS problems. You can give it a go but do remember to back up all your data first.

There are two ways to flash ROM for your model.I will list both of them.

1.Updating the BIOS through the Internet:
Launch the ASUS Update utility from the Windows® desktop by clicking Start > All Programs > ASUS > ASUSUpdate for Eee PC> ASUSUpdate. The ASUS Update main window appears.
Select Update BIOS from Internet from the drop down menu, then click Next.
Select the ASUS FTP site nearest you to avoid network traffic, or click Auto Select. Click Next.
From the FTP site, select the desired BIOS version and click Next.
Follow the screen instructions to complete the update process.

2.Updating the BIOS through a BIOS file:
Download the ROM file from this link ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download Eee PC 1005HAB the file in desktop
Launch the ASUS Update utility from the Windows® desktop by clicking Start > Programs > ASUS > ASUSUpdate for EeePC> ASUSUpdate. The ASUS Update main window appears.
Select Update BIOS from file from the drop down menu, then click Next.
Locate the BIOS file which you saved in desktop earlier, then click Open.
Follow the screen instructions to complete the update process.

The first method is usually the safest as it eliminates the risk of choosing wrong BIOS file.I would suggest going by the first method.

As for the second method,be very very careful in choosing the correct BIOS file for your model.

Maybe servers were busy earlier, try again locating the correct download for your model by product serial number.

that's another problem I click Start>All Programs>>"there's no ASUS>>ASUSUpdate for EeePC" I can't find and or see it, I tried running the ASUS EZ Flash, when I open my notebook I press ALT+F2, the ASUS EZ Flash should appear but it's not, when I press ALT+F2 my notebook restart and go directly in BIOS Setup Utility, even in BIOS Setup Utility I can't find "Tools" to run the ASUS EZ Flash....

If ASUS Update doesn't show up in your start menu it likely was never installed. If you want to go that route you'll either have to install it from the CD that came with your PC or download it from the ASUS website and install it. ASUS EZ Flash is under the Tools menu in my BIOS.

I got it using ASUS EZ Flash, before I restart my notebook, USB is already plugged in, when I press ALT+F2 here's the new problem it keeps posting a message "1005HA.ROM" is not found, my flash drive is freshly reformat as FAT32, and I have no folder inside my flash drive only the BIOS Update Files, I have 5 files there: (My current version is 0801)
1005HA-ASUS-0905.ROM
1005HA-ASUS-1102.ROM
1005HA-ASUS-1203.ROM
1005HA-ASUS-1301.ROM
1005HA-ASUS-1601.ROM

should I rename it to 1005HA.ROM only?
and should I install/update them one by one or all I need to install is the latest which is the 1005HA-ASUS-1601.ROM?

Did your flash drive show up in the list under "Path:". The last time I flashed this PC my flash drive didn't show up at all. I have no idea why and have done it that way previously? It sounds like its looking for a ROM file, "1005HA.ROM" but can't find one? I ended up putting my flash file in the root directory of my hard drive. You should be able to skip directly to the 1005HA-ASUS-1601.ROM. Each new version has all the updates in the previous version.

I would suggest installing ASUS update for Eee PC software from ASUS website and then flashing BIOS using step 2 in my posts above. That looks to me the safest and easiest way.No need to use USB and such.
