Hi i have
G Skill Ripjaws F3-10666CL9S-4GBRL 4GB DDR3 (1333MHz,Cas 9)

The timings that auto selct with my mobo are cas 7!
however this causes programs to stop working,it doesnt crash the pc but crashes the program .


What are the mem timings i should use this at, This is for another pc not my specs below,?I on a q6600 at 1333 fsb cpu 3ghz,timing1.PNGtiming2.PNGtimings.PNG

IM UNSURE ABOUT THE 86 CLOCKS,
I set 9,9,9,24,left the rest to auto in bios!


so what are the best timings!

I'm no guru at this, but have studied enough to be dangerous!

Note that the higher your Dram frequency, the higher the CAS latency, etc. It shows your Dram frequency is currently 666.6Mhz, which - according to the table - will result in 9-9-9-24 timings as shown on your timings table in CPU-Z.

The table shows you should be able to get 7-7-7-20 at 533Mhz.

I'd stay with the higher Dram frequency. We're only talking a difference of 2 clocks latency difference!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

How much total memory is in this PC?

I see one 4GB module on the CPU-Z screenshot. What is in slots #2, #3, and #4?

If you have at least 2 dimms filled, then I have a problem with the fact that CPU-Z shows "single" channel mode. I can only assume that the mobo supports dual channel. Do you have mixed/unmatched RAM in the other dimms?

Matched sets of RAM modules placed in the correct dimm slots will enable dual channel mode, which MAY reduce the latency/timings.

only 1 slot of the 4gb ram,adding another 4gg stick of the same make and type!#dual channel slots i do have!
the 86 clocks is bothering me as in bios its says ram specs 107 clocks for the the 84 clocks my bios auto selects.
hope i explained it well

I must add that the ram when on auto select for timings goes 7 7 7 latency!
which causes programs to fail!
i sett 9,9,9,24 manually in bios for the stick of ram!#
is cas 7 to low for the ram!
why does bios auto select this!#pretty confused here
also on auto it makes the ram run at 533mhz x2= 1066 cas 7
666x2=1333 cas9 ?
am i right

Also would it be better to turn intel eist off?

Not sure you can just add ram..I think for dual/triple channel ram you need to buy matched sets as matched sets are tested to make sure they will run together.

Could be wrong but thats my understanding at least.

Matched is preferable for the reason you mentioned, but not mandatory.

A simple rule of thumb when mixing different sets with different timings is to always set the timings to the slowest installed module.

It's the jedac timings, that I used to set the bios with..
double checked and that is also the settings in my bios.
