Using Disk Manager, need to unshrink and reclaim Disk 0 space

I'm not sure how I ended up like this, but using Computer Manager > Disk Manager, I ended up with my disk 0 as follows:

System Reserved
85MB NFTS
Healthy (System, Active, Primary partition)

16MB
Unallocated

System (C)
139.64 GB NTFS
Healthy (Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, Primary Partition)

In addition, I have four other hard disks, and they are correctly formatted and partitioned (one partition each -- which is what I want with disk 0).

Objective: reclaim the unallocated 16MB and add it to the healthy section; likewise, reclame the "System Reserved" and also add it to the healthy section.

I'm rebuilding the system and don't have much software, so I could reload Windows 7 (Professional), but I'd rather avoid reloading those 100 fixes!

What should I do?

Just extend System Reserved into the 16mb space which was shrunk from it: Partition or Volume - Extend.

The rest looks correct although it would be best to see a screenshot of your maximized Disk Mgmt map with listings.

Make sure none other than SysReserved are marked Active.

The unwanted sub-partition in drive 0 is active, as is "E" and "K" What operations should I perform and in what order?

If you do that, the system will not boot any more and you will be stuck. If, however, you insist to do that, you must first move the bootmgr to C. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/209885-bootmgr-move-c-easybcd.html

I'll just reload Windows 7 ... fortunately, that's about all that is on the system now. Thanks for your help!

I gave you the solution which is as easy as can be:

Extend SysReserved .

Then mark the other partitions Inactive: Partition - Mark as Inactive - Windows 7 Forums

Greg, I wonder what he has on this 'K' partition. It says 'Paging files'. And why are there 2 of the HDD partitions marked as 'active'. Should not be from the installation on the SSD because that is on port0 (unless he changed the cables later).

websquad, if you really want to reinstall (which is really not neccessary) and want to avoid the little 100MB active system partition, then you have to predefine a primary, active partition on the SSD. These are the commands:

Diskpart
List disk
Select disk n (where n is the number that was given for your SSD in List disk)
Clean
Create partition primary align=1024
Active
Exit

Can't really see what's on K since he didn't include the listings as requested.

Still not sure why he replied to simple steps to extend SysReserved and mark other partitions Inactive by saying he was going to reinstall.
