First of all....I'm new to this whole 'satellite' thing...:o

Have just installed TBS 6922 card.....and this was picked up easily in Win Media Center.
Have to say that I'm not overly impressed with the quality of HD image so far. Not as sharp as Freeview HD, when compared directly. :(

But on to my question....

Is there a tutorial out there to help me install, and get the best out of the TBS software...this would be very much appreciated!! :geek:

OR...Should I just stick with the Media Center route...???

Thanks

Can't answer on a TBS tutorial.

Windows media centre gives you tv guide listings and ability to schedule recordings which you may not get on the TBS software. Generally, most people purchase tv cards to use with media centre.

The TBS is a decent card so if you're using hdmi to connect to your tv, the HD picture should be of equal quality to most other decoders.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that! Since my original post, I've also been looking at Media Portal.

I am connecting to my TV....via the hdmi on a GT-430 card (which I understand to be more than adequate for HTPC use)

Perhaps the picture quality thing is down to codecs and/or setup....or???

Thanks again:D

Tip #2, don't instal codecs unless you need them for certain file formats, they're more hastle than they're worth.
Windows doesn't tune that well, an alternative is DVBLink TV Source.
