I've already made a rule for inbound requests, but it doesn't seem to be working.
Ran a security check at grc.com and the reply to a ICMP ping was the only problem.
Everything else was "stealth."
I apologize for my outburst.
I'm using Windows Firewall only. I made an inbound rule to block all ping requests, which apparently, doesn't work. I'm assuming the rule is being ignored because my
system couldn't answer a ping request if all inbound pings are blocked.
I connect to the net with DSL - phone jack to modem - modem to computer.

Control Panel / Windows firewall / Advanced settings (on left side) / Inbound rules / New rule (on right hand side) then choose "Custom" and next, now click "Protocol and ports" and in the "Protocol type" box select "ICMPv4" - then the "customize" button to allow you to select which types of ICMP ping you wish to block... click next, if you want to specify IP addresses do so now... otherwise choose "Block the Connection" in the following screen, then follow the on screen steps, name the rule, and save it... you should now be done...

You're welcome, but do bear in mind you may need ICMP for certain websites which you interact with, and for internal networking as its function can be used to calculate dropped packets as well as sometimes being used maliciously by worms for flood DDOS attacks.
