will non tfd ver of C&C generals+zero hr work?

This could have been titled 'Will C&C generals deluxe work'? How much is it to upgrade to ultimate version and does the ultimate version have better combatbility with old games? such as C&C. I am realy disappointed in tfd evin with the unofficial patch only have gotten half of tfd working. If i were to buy generals deluxe would it work?

ps my os is 7 home premium 64bit. AMD Phenom IIx4 3ghz processor,6gb ram, 315 nvidia,gateway tower.

technical question here,and sorry for double post i wont do again. Will command and conquer generals deluxe work on windows 7 home premium 64bit? Ive heard and seen the tfd version dont w/o rewriting a file in the folder with notepad and im no notepad user. basic specs on my pc
