FF Nightly (x64) Problems

I have uninstalled the flash player and downloaded the newest one. I have all Windows updates. I uninstalled Nightly and reinstalled the latest version...still no dice.

When I go to YouTube and attempt to watch a video all I get is a black box where the video would be. No option to play, fast forward, etc.

Also, certain sites which seem to use a lot of flash (or some other coding) seem to distort as if they didn't load correctly. I went to Wikipedia and typed "Firefox" and received a distorted view of the page which followed.

Pictures embedded on websites using Photobucket (and the like) also do not load. FF 32-bit works fine.

What gives? (7F seems to load fine)

Are you using NoScript addon ? If so, you might have to allow Youtube for it to display. Just a note that with WIN7 64x you can use the 64x version of FF called Waterfox. I just installed it and find it somewhat faster. Maybe it could help your problem.

Cool, thanks. I'm going to try Waterfox and see how it does. Any browser speed benchmark/test sites you recommend to compare?

EDIT: I have the same problem with Waterfox. I don't have any other add-ons installed other than do not track plus and ad block.

EDIT #2: Just tried again on FF x32 and now I'm unable to view YouTube videos or other flash related pictures.

EDIT #3: I rebooted and fixed the problem.

Is this Waterfox the same as the Nightly 13.0a1 version?

Could you post a link where to download Waterfox?

Thanks

If you want to try something else, there is also the Pale Moon project, they produce FF builds specifically optimized for Windows, both in 32- and 64-bit. The current version is 9.1.

At the same time the current Nightly (version 13 as unbelievable as it sounds) is rather stable and I can't even reproduce the problem reported in this thread. I have no problem watching YouTube or anything else for that matter. Of course, I have very few plugins and extensions. Flash is the official Adobe 64-bit, Java is version 7 64-bit. The Office plug-in is also 64-bit ( I use 64-bit Office), although I am not sure what it does really. There are a couple of things such as Password exporter that I needed when I replaced my motherboard recently, which I used successfully despite the Mozilla claims of incompatibility, but now I have all of that disabled. That's it, no problems with this at all.

I'm not sure why I hadthe problems. I edited post #3 earlier this morning to show that a simple reboot solved my problem. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling everything to see if I could fix it with no luck. So, I decided to reboot the PC and try again. Low and behold, that fixed it.

I also use Office 64 bit 2010 Professional Plus. I have 64 bit flash (the only type which is downloadable from Adobe with a 64 bit OS), and 64 bit Java.

I have Firefox, Nightly, Pale Moon, and Waterfox.

Must say Waterfox is faster.
