Homegroup can't be seen on Laptop with wifi, but can with it's LAN

Despite being able to connect to a Homegroup containing two wired desktops, a router, and a wireless printer, using it's LAN connection, I can't get the laptop to see the Homegroup just using wifi.

The laptop can still access the internet and printer, but no homegroup.
If I plug in the LAN cable I can see and automatically join the Homegroup.
If I then remove the LAN cable, the wifi then connects to the Homegroup.

If I start the Laptop on wifi only. It can't even see the Homegroup.

This is a new thing, as I had no problems before. The only difference in the laptop now,is a very recent back up restore and update.

When on your wireless network make sure that the network type is set to home and not public.

At the link, I tried a few things, but it came down to switching the router on and off (which was also there), that I should have had the gumption to try

Anyway, it works now. Let's hope it works next time too

It's now back to the laptop only seeing the homegroup with a LAN connection. Using wifi, it doesn't even see the other computers.

This sounds like a router problem to me.

Have you tried to update the firmware on your router?

Router firmware is current.
Anyway, it worked OK with the same router firmware right up until I had to restore the laptop. So I'm thinking it's more of a software thing, as the two other computers behave as normal.
