hi all
ive got a bit of a dilema. as in the title my 965 be c3 is underclocking to 2.6Ghz and undervolting to 1.26v when system is idle. C1E and cool n quiet r disabled. ive read tonnes of forum threads but cant seem to find an answer.
any ideas folks? as alway any help is much apreciated
thanks for ur reply.
im already using the performance power plan and in the advance settings, processor power management i only have the option for cooling. no min/ max processor state. i dont think that option has been there since i upgraded from my athlon II x4 640.
i read that if i enabled cool n quiet again then this option would apear again but it does'nt.
it does'nt clock down when system has been idle for a short while. its when its been idle for hours. it hasnt done it yet today and pc has been idle for a good few hours
Sorry I am unable to help then.
But if it clocks back up when under load then I would see this as a good feature. I use it with my PC, when I'm only browsing the net my clock speed is half of the max which I have no problems with and when I need the speed it automatically clocks to max in less than a second.

Yes I did read that but sometimes not all the times but sometimes you could have disabled it and not saved the settings , It happens if that isn't the reason maybe your board is having issues with the controller

yeah i remember ur post. il keep an eye on ur progress as im gonna get the fx-8150 be once my daughters birthday is out the way. im running a similar cooler to the one u bought too. corsair h50 which was a vast improvement over the arctic freezer i was using. a friend of mine has a bulldozer with a corsair h70 i think oc'd to around 4.5/ 4.8 cant remember egsact number and he has good temps.
my phenom 965be idles @33c n maxes out @49c during intel burn test. ive read loads of comments saying they r no better than mid priced air coolers but 1 they dont wiegh as much,2 dont take over ur whole case. for around 50 notes u cant go wrong.
will be good to see ur results as our setups r very similar. roll on may then i can get my bulldozer
depending on ur results i may go for the cheaper fx-8120
