Good Guy

Each time we use Google/Bing Engine search, and click on site, we are redirected to other sites, and at the moment it's "bidvertiser....".

I have spent the past week and hours on the phone with our antivirus technical support (Trend), and microsoft technical support, and all to no avail.

Also, the System Restore has been switched off, so I wasn't able to go to System Restore to restore back before the problem started.

We are using an Asus notebook and have been suggested to uninstall it and it appears that the preinstalled software can be reinstalled.

No doubt doing this will take some time, has anyone else had this problem over the past month and were able to solve the problem.

Thanks:)

Here you go Good Guy, just download NPE (Norton Power Eraser) (Free Utility) I can guarantee it will take the toughest of the tough and remove them, and save you the hassle of having to format, reinstall, or use your System Restore Points to get it ALMOST back to where you had it. Free Virus Removal | Norton Power Eraser

Thanks Mike, it all sounds good, but I don't like this statement on the Power Eraser site: "You should use Norton Power Eraser only when nothing else will remove the threat and you are willing to accept the risk that the scanner may quarantine a legitimate program. ":( So what is a legitimate programme---Windows 7?:)

Actually all that is, is if it sees something that MIGHT not be a trojan, or virus and removes it, JUST like any other A/V scanner has the same type of warning. Here is a example you have a file marks killall.doc, and the scanner might see it as a Trojan hidden on your system, and remove it. Not a real biggie, if like most you back up your files, and can just restore it. I have yet to have a problem with NPE, Norton updates the .dat file all the time with it, and it has never removed a important file of mine to date, been using it since it has been in existence.
