Hey all! I just recently went from XP to 7. I have a desktop with Pro and a netbook with Ultimate. I came here back when I first got the two pcs and had a lot of questions and got priceless info. After research and experimentation this is what I settled on.

I already had the lifetime paid versions of Malware Bytes and Super Antispyware. I am running both of those in real time and with daily scans, alongside the paid version of Avast Security. The only reason I paid for Avast was because of a 2 year special that they were running. I have Avast setup in real time with daily scans.

I have had absolutely 0 conflicts whatsoever, and all 3 are running great!!

Thanks again!!

Jack

Downloaded and installed SpywareBlaster. From what I can gather, it has no scan feature and the free version has to be updated manually in order to keep protection up to date? Is that pretty much it? Getting the paid version gives you automatic updates?
Thanks,
Jack

You're right.
There's no scanning involved.
SB puts a ton of known bad sites in IE's Restricted sites and in many other Browsers too.
Just check for updates once a week.
How does SpywareBlaster's protection work?

Similar to how one might plug the leaky holes in a ship, SpywareBlaster secures your browser against potentially unwanted software and sites - preventing the installation of spyware and other potentially unwanted software, exploitation of security vulnerabilites, and much more. Most importantly, however, SpywareBlaster works without interfering with the good side of the web.

SpywareBlaster provides protection for your favorite web browser(s):

Internet Explorer
Mozilla Firefox
Netscape
Seamonkey
Pale Moon
K-Meleon

and browsers that use the IE engine, including:
AOL web browser
Avant Browser
Slim Browser
Maxthon (formerly MyIE2)
Crazy Browser
GreenBrowser

The only thing I don't see that would be nice is if it was designed to protect Chrome. I use IE on my netbook, but chrome on my desktop. I guess I could import bookmarks into IE on the desktop as well!

JMH, what is the benefit for the paid version of SB?

Disregard, I located it: SpywareBlaster® AutoUpdate

I have never used this product before. I'm going to try it out.

Update: I went to download the SpywareGuard companion and got this warning:
