Firefox & IE8 slow to show, slow to load remainder

Internet laggy & slow (FIXED!); Linksys WMP54G; Win7 64

I have a strange issue where every webpage (whether via Firefox 3.5.2 or IE8) will always load slower on my Windows 7 system as compared to my Macbook Pro.

Both computers are wirelessly connected. I've ran speedtests on both systems, and both come out the same -
5.75 Mb/s (down)
.95 Mb/s (up)
22ms latency

But, for some reason, on the Windows 7 system, it always takes longer to open up webpages - usually by about 1-2 seconds, and sometimes by 5-7 seconds.

On the Macbook, some images and text will almost immediately appear, then fill in very quickly. On the Windows 7 system, I'll have a blank screen for a second or two, and then the images and text fill in slowly. If I were to venture a guess, on average, I think the Windows 7 machine renders pages at 80% the overall speed as the Macbook Pro.

Any idea what it could be? (I tried changing the pipelining values in Firefox and the initialpaint.delay value to 0, but it makes no difference.)

Specs on PC:
Chipset: Intel G31 (w/ GMA 3100 onboard video)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
Wireless Card: Linksys 802.11g

***SOLVED***

I am using a Linksys WMP54G v4.1 wireless card on Windows 7 64. For those of you that also have this configuration, here is the solution.

*FIX* Linksys WMP54G v4.1 lag on Windows 7 - Icrontic Forums

Just follow the instructions and install the Vista 64 driver, and any latency and packet loss will be remedied. Makes a WORLD of difference.

EDIT************
After some testing, I had to remove this driver because of instability. I was getting lockups from basic internet browsing and other strange connectivity issues.

I too find my webpages load a little slower on Windows 7, but I get max speeds on my downloads and uploads anyway so I'm not stressing it.

It's not unbearable, but it is noticeable..

I have slow firefox with 64bit Windows 7 but was good with 32bit, I am not sure if it has to do with my only having 3GB of RAM.
