Solved 5.1 speakers only playing 2.1

Hi,

I have just bought Logitech z506 5.1 surround sound speakers, but when I connect them to my pc audio only plays from the front 2 and sub woofer in everything apart from when I configure them in playback devices.

I know that most audio is only 2.1 anyway but is there a way to get it to come out of the other speaker? I have updated drivers and this hasn't helped.

Thank you in advance.

Look in the Realtek control panel for the speaker fill option, that should get all the speakers working from a stereo source.

Hi,

I found the speaker fill option but all sound seems to still be coming only from the front 2 speakers :(

MisterTurtl3,
You will need to find some source material that has a lot of rear information to test. The fact that you are hearing only front channels is quite normal. Try wrapping the left and right fronts in two heavy towels and raising the volume to test!
