Hi guys

when I ran sfc scan recently it found a problem that can't be repaired (I've run the scan numerous times). upon checking sfc details, this appears to be the problem.

Cannot repair member file [l:22{11}]"PINTLGB.IMD" of Microsoft-Windows-IME-Simplified-Chinese-Core, Version = 6.1.7601.17514, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch

Could not reproject corrupted file [ml:520{260},l:62{31}]"\??\C:\Windows\IME\IMESC5\DICTS"\[l:22{11}]"PINTLGB.IMD"; source file in store is also corrupted

This laptop is only 3 weeks old. I ran sfc scan on my old computer (about 5 years old), expecting many corrupt files but it showed no damaged files.

Is this a major problem, and is there anything I can do to repair it without having to reformat my drives? if not, is it worth reformatting the drives?

Thanks.

Is it always the same file? If so, I'd run some diagnostics on the hard drive from the HDD manufacturer.

If it is a random, different file, then I'd run Memtest on the system to check for bad memory.

Damaged system files can be a problem with the huge load of preinstalled crapware and useless factory utilties installed on the average consumer laptop today.

They can be damaged even by their removal, which is why most tech enthusiasts Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7,

Until then the safest methods are here to Clean Up Factory Bloatware - Windows 7 Forums

As given in those steps, unfixable System files may require a Repair Install as a last resort before the superior Clean Reinstall.

[h=1]@jumanji I have a 5Tb Lacie hard drive. I accidently removed it while copying the data. The drive shows me from that time the file is corrupted and can not be read via windows 10. I ran a chkdsk command but it tells that it can not be run. Do you know maybe any solution i.e. any software rather than the data recovery? Thank you very much. I really appreciate your help.[/h]
