Freeze/Hang while loading Icons. White paper looking ICON?

Ok so my Toshiba laptop was recently upgraded (clean install) of windows 7 Ultimate -64 bit.
It worked perfectly fine and fast.. now it jst freezes after windows 7 loads.
It starts up normally and then when all the Icons are refreshing (turn into white paper icons) it freezes along with the mouse. Can't do anything but turn off. It ALWAYS happens. I can boot onto safe mode fine.

I think it was the graphics card.. cause now it just doesn't show any display at ALL.
No backlight nothing.. not even on an external display... maybe it overheated because the person who use to use it would paly games on it but it wasn't even a gaming laptop..

Does it still have indication that it is booting Windows? Any audio with the Windows intro music? It could also be the power input is out. Either way, though, the laptop would have to be repaired by the manufacturer to replace the motherboard. I am guessing the display device is an onboard device and not a dedicated GPU.

Onboard, and no indications. The laptop stay's on.. LEDs on fine no blinking.. just no display. It's a Toshiba.

Onboard graphics are integrated into the motherboard, so a motherboard replacement is required. Replacements usually run 60-80% of the total cost of the system if the warranty has expired, and most people usually choose to get a new laptop when they find that out.

How old is the system? Warranty expired?
