Solved ISO file. How to create one?

I am new to virtualization.

I have VMWare Player on my system and I want to install XP Pro on a VHD using the player.
I understand that I will need to create an ISO file to do this.
All I have is the XP original CD and its product key.

How to create this ISO file?

I never did it before.

Any help will me much appreciated.

Another option, download something like IMGBurn (it's free). Insert your XP CD, and tell it to copy the CD to an image file. Then you will have an .ISO that you can install from.

Not using VMWare myself being a VirtualBox user I'm just wondering: It sounds not logical if VMWare Player has no option to use physical CD or DVD as install media?

Yes, this option is there. Rather the use of ISO option is the secondary.

EDIT : Here is the options ... If you have the disk, you dont need an image.
